Femtosecond Time-Resolved Photoelectron Imaging

Synopsis:

An anion is electronically excited by a pump pulse, an electron is detached by a probe pulse after a time delay, and the kinetic energy of the electron is determined by imaging on a phosphor screen.

Molecules studied:

Small anions and anionic clusters.

Information obtained:

Femtosecond dynamics of the anion excited state.
